Second time around

I haven't posted in a while, but practice has been going pretty well.

I've been focusing on memorizing a finger-style piece that had been a problem for months. I'm about halfway through now. Slow going, but it's working.

I did have a little epiphanette the other day: when I go through my practice routine, sometimes pieces are rough. I'll occasionally go back to play them and they're typically much cleaner the second time through. It could be because I've simply already played it, but I'm thinking now that it has more to do with focus. The first time round, I'm trying to get through the whole repertoire; the second time through I'm focusing on just that piece.

Editing, revising, editing again, taking time away and then coming back to it. Would we value the work...if it wasn't work?

And, it's about time you posted something! I hear Joe's bringing his Violin to Italy...you bringing something to strum?

We just got to our room in London. Joe does have the violin, but I figured I should choose between the laptop and the travel guitar and I foolishly chose the laptop!

Ed is cutting me off from the laptop...as I'll be carrying everything!

When will you post more photos on FB? And how is Diane today?

I just figured how to save the guest posts as drafts so instead of you having to copy, paste and add photos - you'll only need to change from draft to post on my blog.

Now, no clue about comments as I get an e-mail message, when they are made, to approve or not...same for you?
